The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum and mop that's impressively clever in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is among the best in the industry, but it's expensive.
It is a relatively small base station that looks great and is able to be concealed when not in use. But the station's main selling point is how it automates many tasks and functions that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and helps keep your robot clean and charged.
Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's the only robot vacuum I've tried that does a good job picking up debris from bare floors. It's also not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly in the area of navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as some other robovacs, meaning it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas or rooms of the home. It's not able navigate stairs as well as some competitors,, and it doesn't have a dock that allows the user to set up a dedicated cleaning zone for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do everything.
If you're looking for a way to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of alternatives available. Many of the eufy models cost significantly less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance is less expensive and provides the same experience in the app, but with more features, including the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and better overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high- and low-pile carpets.
